Shift4 Reports Strong Quarter Powered by Acquisitions
Shift4 Payments Inc. reported a 26% year-over-year increase in September-quarter processing volume, driven by its acquisition of Global Blue, a Swiss processor. The Center Valley, Pa.-based company also posted a 62% surge in gross profit to $409.6 million for the quarter, matching its four-year compound annual growth rate.
Strong Quarterly Performance
Revenue reached $589.2 million, up 61% from the same period in 2024. CEO Taylor Lauber highlighted the company’s leadership in hospitality and stadium markets during a conference call, noting, “We are number one in hotels, number one in stadiums, and we are just beginning to bring these strengths to the world.” The growth reflects Shift4’s ability to leverage its core verticals while expanding through strategic acquisitions.
The company is preparing to absorb Bambora North America, the U.S. and Canadian assets of French processor Worldline S.A., in the first quarter of 2026. This deal will position Shift4 among the largest processors of automated clearing house volume in the U.S. market. It’s going well across the board.”
Strategic Expansion and Stock Activity
Despite its growth, Shift4 remains committed to its original focus on point-of-sale solutions for independent retailers. That’s really good and really hard to leave,” Lauber said. The company’s shares traded at just under $70 early Thursday, prompting the CEO to justify recent stock buybacks. “Trading at levels we were trading at in December 2020. The obvious thing to do is to buy as much of our equity as we’re permitted to do,” he explained.
Isaacman’s leadership transition shows Shift4’s ongoing evolution as it scales operations and broadens its market influence.
